Organisers of the event, gfu (Gesellschaft für Unterhaltungs- und Kommunikationselektronik) and Messe Berlin, believe they should try to catch up with an industry that is innovating faster by the day.
"The decision to time product presentations at the IFA to match the increased pace of manufacturers' cycle of innovation around the world was overdue," agreed Dr. Rainer Hecker, chairman of gfu's supervisory board and Dr. Christian Göke, chief operating officer of Messe Berlin. "This new arrangement offers the industry and consumers an ideal opportunity to obtain up-to-date information."
On top of the attendance figures that vindicatie the organisers' decision is the volume of orders in excess of 2.5 billion euro this year.
